Privacy Policy
Traviary is built so that your travel history is yours alone. The app rebuilds your journal entirely on your iPhone and sends nothing to us. This policy explains the few places where data is handled, who handles it, and the rights you have.
The app collects nothing. It reads photo metadata on your device to build your journal, never uploads your photos, and works in airplane mode — there are no accounts, no servers, and no tracking. The only data we ever touch is the privacy-friendly, anonymous visitor statistics on this website and any email you choose to send us.
1. Who we are
Traviary (“Traviary”, “we”, “us”) is published by ittailors.cz, s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic. For anything in this policy — including data-protection requests — you can reach us at support@ittailors.cz.
For the website and any support correspondence, ittailors.cz, s.r.o. is the “data controller” under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws.
2. The Traviary app
This is the part that matters most, and it is deliberately simple: the app does not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our systems. We never receive it, because it never leaves your device.
What the app reads on your device
To build your journal, Traviary reads a narrow slice of metadata from your photo library, with your permission:
- Photo timestamps (when a photo was taken)
- GPS coordinates embedded in a photo, when they are present
- The “favorite” flag on a photo
That’s it. Traviary does not read or upload the photos themselves — the image pixels never leave your phone. All processing — reverse-geocoding locations, reconstructing trips, building maps and badges — happens on-device against a database that ships inside the app, even with no network connection.
Where your journal lives
Your archive is stored on your iPhone. If you have iCloud Backup enabled, it is included in your device backup and handled by Apple the same way your photos are — under Apple’s Privacy Policy, with end-to-end encryption where your settings provide it. We have no access to that backup.
What the app does not do
- No account, sign-up, or login.
- No servers or network calls to us — the app runs offline.
- No third-party analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or advertising identifiers inside the app.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. Ever.
3. Purchases
Traviary is free to try and offers an optional Premium upgrade. Any purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment and shares only what it needs for us to deliver and validate the purchase (for example, an anonymized transaction receipt). We never see your card number or billing details. Apple’s handling of your payment is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
4. This website
The website at traviary.online is hosted on Vercel. Two things happen here:
- Hosting. Like any web server, Vercel processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser type) transiently to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic and page performance. These are cookieless, do not track you across sites, and do not build a profile or identify you personally. Data is aggregated and anonymized.
We rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site as the legal basis for this minimal, anonymous measurement. Because no cookies or similar tracking technologies are used for it, the site does not show a tracking-consent banner.
5. Contacting us
If you email support@ittailors.cz, we process your email address and the contents of your message for the sole purpose of responding to you and keeping a record of the correspondence. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling your request.
6. How long we keep data
- Your journal: kept on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. Deleting the app removes it (subject to any iCloud backup you control). We hold no copy.
- Website analytics: retained only in aggregated, anonymized form by our provider for a limited period.
- Support emails: kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and a reasonable period afterwards.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because the app keeps your journal solely on your device, you already control it directly — you can edit or delete entries, or remove the app entirely, at any time.
For the limited data we do handle (website analytics and support emails), contact support@ittailors.cz to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).
8. Children
Traviary is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. As the app collects no personal data on our systems, no such data reaches us in any case.
9. International users
We operate from the Czech Republic (European Union). If you use Traviary from elsewhere, note that your interactions with this website and any support emails are processed in the EU. Your on-device journal stays wherever your device is.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change. Continued use of the app or website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
